Community development
Community development is central to the purpose of Bakgatla Baphuting Holdings. Our mining activities are designed to support local economic participation by creating employment opportunities, developing skills and opening pathways for young people and local workers to participate in the mining economy.
Social and Labour Programmes
Our Social and Labour Programmes are focused on more than short-term job creation. We aim to build capacity that lasts — through practical skills development, accredited training, workplace exposure and opportunities for growth within the mining value chain. By enhancing the skills of the youth and local workforce, we are helping to create a stronger employment base for the region.

We are also committed to supplier and business development. As the operation grows, we aim to support local service providers and SMMEs so that more value remains within the community. The values we are fostering through these programmes are dignity, accountability, skills ownership, entrepreneurship and shared prosperity. Our goal is to ensure that mining becomes a platform for broader upliftment, not an isolated activity.
